| you answered my question here that i asked you on myspace wow this guy is still alive, i thought out of the darkness was composed by someone who died centuries ago like mozart, beethoven, or bach, probably cuz its so famous and good ok wow lol i just found out that this guy, Gary, has just signed up on this forum, maybe i shouldn't have mentioned about the alive thing my cousin loves classical music so he probably also loves out of the darkness, since im not as big of a fan of classical music but still love it | |

| actually, the beginning of the music is very elegant and skillful mix. got me pretty deep when I listened closely. I hope it can last a bit longer as a complete song not the repeating ones. and somehow I think it is incomplete. he should carry out the theme of out of the drakness, in case of senses.
I don't know nothing about music and I am a music blind, but I think I know about the good ones. This one is very good!

| Eiko, I'm honored that you created a blog topic for me. Thank you so much for your appreciation. I had to laugh out loud at the Hung's comment that he was surprised I was still alive. Yes I am, and hope to stay that way for a while longer.
Thanks so much for listening.

| Hi Gary~ (^_^). I've always wanted to ask. What is your motivation in life to compose such beautiful music. What kind of inspiration goes through your mind when you're writing up these heart warming music. | |

| Eiko, It's hard to say where my inspiration comes from. Maybe from a deep feeling I am having inside, and also from nature, and also from the great music I've listened to all my life.
Hung, to answer your question, yes I wrote "Out of the Darkness". However, the piano arrpeggio accompanment you hear at the beginning sounds a lot a famous Bach etude. The style is the same, but the harmonies have been changed to go with my melody in the violin. Then I added a counter melody in the oboe, and added a full orchestral string chorale. It sounds very late "Baroque" style, which is why you though I was dead!

| Hey, those guys are really good! The violinist can really play. I'm impressed.
Got a new track posted on my "myspace" page called "Sunset Chant". Nothing like hip hop, but then, what is? other than hip hop.

| "Sunset Chant" a very familiar taste of my homeland's (China's). you say it is sunset, but I think it's mostly related to some sort of water front when composing(from the view of the fishing boat or something). I hope I know better about what I am trying to say, lol. But it is very impressive about your music style acorss so far away! Like the "Ice Lake", do you really been to alaska to get the "sight"? | |

| You are not the first person to say that my new stuff, like "Sunset", sounds Asian. If you are Chinese, then you obviously know what you're talking about.
This new music was based on Native American (American Indiian) flute music, but there is a theory that the American Indians came from Asia via the Bering Strait when it was frozen over. That may be why there are so many similarities. Maybe when this recording is done, I should market it to China!
Speaking of frozen, "Ice Lake" was actually a lake in Colarado that I hiked to one summer. However, after writing this music, I thought the music sounded like a huge frozen lake in winter, so I called it "Ice Lake".
Thanks again for listening and appreciating.
